Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager of Construction, the Construction Estimator is responsible to compile timely, accurate, and competitive estimates, to provide a client or potential client, for a tendered or negotiated project.

Responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following:

Must possess core values of Integrity, Work Ethics, Accountability, Dedication, Safety, Optimism and Measured PerformanceInterpret blueprints, drawings, site measurements and specificationsGather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documentsAssess material, labor and equipment required for a projectAnalyze labor, material, and time requirementsPrepare quantity take-offsAssemble, summarize, and analyze tenders; recommend awardsAssist in selection of sub-tradesInterface with Project Manager, support team and Client to achieve precise and accurate estimatesSolicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendorsSubmits 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline

Qualifications and Experience

Graduate from a recognized Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Construction Science programMinimum of 10 years construction estimating experience in commercial construction.Prior experience working hands-on in commercial constructionKnowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity, take off procedures, sub-trade procurement, and pricing.General construction knowledge; understanding specifications, methods, and procedures.Numerical with a high level of proficiency in MS Excel.Meticulous attention to detail.Self-motivated and motivated to learn new skills.Eager to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment.Work well under pressure, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines.Dynamic team player with excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skillsExceptional problem solving, prioritizing, and time management skillsKeen attention to detailStrong facilitation and presentation skillsUse of Autocad & Plan Swift
